Today we had Sarah Langi from the Nelson Environment Centre come and teach us about waste free lunches. We learned that plastic is problem rubbish because it cannot be reused or recycled and ends up at the landfill or the rubbish dump. Paper and card is made from trees and because of this is can be composted. It is important to cut down the rubbish in our lunch boxes.
This lunch box had the most problem rubbish.
This had 6 pieces of problem rubbish.
This box had 2 pieces of rubbish but the raisin box is not a problem as it could be composted or recycled.
This only has one piece of rubbish and it is ok as it is only paper.
